A lot of people ask about removing insulation from their attic, floor and sometimes even their walls. Sometimes, this is necessary because of fire damage, water damage or because of a rodent infestation.

The Removal

When it comes to attic insulation removal, we use a vacuum powered by 26 26-horsepower motor. This ensures that we get the job done as quickly as possible. The insulation is sucked up through a three-inch transparent plastic hose and then stored to be disposed of in accordance with local and state laws. Our company is always looking at how to recycle this material. In the future, we will be working to reuse and recycle old attic insulation.
Asbestos and Vermiculite-Testing & Removal
We also look to see the kind of insulation that you have. Some older homes have asbestos and vermiculite insulation. While these are great insulators, they are hazardous to your health. Depending on the amount of vermiculite or asbestos, you might need to have these professionally removed. When the tech comes out, they can take a sample to be tested for a small fee. After ten years even the best floor twine jobs lose their effectiveness to gravity. Sometimes, we are able to take the insulation that is currently there and re-twine it. A lot of times, however, we have to take it out. This has to be done by hand because floor insulation cannot be sucked through a vacuum.
In order to save our customers time on insulation removal. Instead of removing insulation in the entire attic or floor. We may recommend that we do a Spot Removal. This means that we just vacuum out the problem area.
